Police Blotter

    Police received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today:
November 7
    At 11:19 a.m. a caller said a friend was suicidal and had run from a home to Lincoln Street. Officers couldn’t find him. At 12:04 p.m. the caller said the friend was back at the residence, acting crazy. Officers talked to him and he voluntarily agreed to talk with professional personnel at a facility.
    At 2:27 p.m. a caller said a driver passed a school bus while its red lights were flashing, in the 500 block of HPR.
    A caller asked to  speak with an officer about a harassment incident involving her daughter and a boy.
    At 4:44 p.m. a caller said a bulky package was partially in the roadway on the bridge. Officers found a pillow in a plastic bag, and disposed of it.
    At 5:55 p.m. a caller said he’d had to let a fare out of his cab in the 2300 block of HPR before reaching their destination due to the man’s level of intoxication and his combativeness.
    At 6:04 p.m. a caller said she’d come home to find an unknown man on her porch, yelling, flipping her off, lying down on the ground then going back to the porch attempting to get in, then urinating on the porch. Officers found the man was highly intoxicated and matched the description of a man recently released from a cab. Officers took him into protective custody.
    At 7 p.m. a caller said a bear had come out of Halibut Point Rec Area and crossed the road to the Granite Creek Road area. Officers were advised.
    At 7:10 p.m. a hotel said two men were harassing staff and customers, then left without paying their bill. Officers were unable to respond immediately.
    At 11:27 p.m. a caller said someone might be in his brother’s house, downtown. The brother  is out of town, the caller said.  An officer found no evidence of a crime.
    November 8
    At 12:03 a.m. a caller said her kitten had gotten out of the house, on Lance Drive, and couldn’t be found.
    At 4:58 a.m. a caller reported finding a wallet in the road at the airport and would leave it at the ticket counter.
An officer was to pick it up.


    Sitka Police
    Jeremy Beebe, 44, was arrested Wednesday morning for violating conditions of release.
    Theron N. Parrish, 31, was charged Wednesday evening with assault in the fourth degree, domestic violence.

In Court
    Angela Ruth Martin, 57, was found guilty of assault in the fourth degree, reckless injury, a class A misdemeanor. She was sentenced to 180 days, suspended, ordered to get treatment and complete an anger management program. She will be on probation for two years.


Emergency Calls
    Sitka Fire Department got ambulance calls at 9:16 a.m., 11:42 a.m., and 12:09 p.m. Wednesday.
