Candidate Thanks
Dear Editor: To the people of Sitka:
Who generously shared from their body of knowledge to bring me up to speed on city issues;
Who supported my candidacy in so many different ways – voted for me, posted signs, contributed financially, shared encouragement, talked to your friends about my campaign, spent time with my kids during meetings, brought my family dinner, and more!
Who reached out with questions on an issue (especially if you disagreed with my stance — respect);
And to the other candidates, with whom I feel that bit of kinship which comes from shared experience, even if we mostly became acquainted via Zoom:
Thank you. Running for Assembly has been an enormously positive learning experience, and I’ve come to care for the people and the future of this city even more. If nothing else, the new friendships made were absolutely worth it.

Dear Editor: Thank you to all the voters who were so patient and cooperative with all the new health protocols on election day and for your kindness to the election workers. It was exciting to see how easily Americans adapted to the current conditions and maintained their enthusiasm for the democratic process. All with their ID in their hands and smiles on their faces. Thank you, again.
