Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
October 9
Bears were reported at 1:24 a.m. at 130 Indian River Road; at 4:49 p.m. at 701 Indian River Road; at 7:02 a.m. at 100 Indian River Road; and 7:51 a.m. at 1904 Cascade Creek Road.
A welfare check was requested in the 1700 block of HPR.
A traffic complaint was filed at Silver Bay at 4:14 p.m.
At 4:58 p.m. a bear was reported on Indian River Road, and at 5:02 p.m. a bear was reported on Kaasda Heen Circle.
At 8:55 p.m. a bear was reported on Bahrt Circle.
At 9:05 p.m. an assault was reported at a fish lodge.
At 10:43 p.m. a bear was reported on Indian River Road.
At 10:05 p.m. a caller reported suspicious activity on Dodge Circle.
October 10
At 12:27 p.m. a bear was reported on Eagle Way, and at 1:12 a.m. one was reported on Katherine Benson Drive.
At 7:48 a.m. a bear was reported in the 1600 block of SMC.
A caller on Tilson Street reported getting harassing phone calls.
At 3:45 p.m. a second report of a bear in the 1600 block of SMC came in, and at 8:13 p.m. a third report of a bear in that area came in.
At 5:08 p.m. the library reported someone was trespassing.
At 9:56 p.m. a bear was reported on Wolff Drive, and at 11:29 p.m. a bear was reported at Blatchley Middle School.
October 11
At 5:04 a.m. a bear was reported in the 600 block of Versa Place.
At 10:05 a.m. an assault was reported on Etolin Way.
At 11:57 a.m. a bear was reported in the 800 block of SMC.
A theft was reported in the 2300 block of HPR.
A report of child abuse is under investigation.
At 3:58 p.m. a bear was reported near Hames Center, and at 5:28 p.m. a wireless caller reported a bear, but police records don’t list a location.
At 8:22 a bear was reported on Rudolph Walton Circle, and at 8:33 p.m. one was reported on Pherson Street.
Sitka Police
Conner J. Forrey, 27, was charged Friday with criminal trespass in the first degree, misconduct involving a weapon in the fourth degree, and violating conditions of release.
Jeffrey V. Goodman, 27, was charged Friday with assault in the third degree and violating conditions of release.
Kyle Upcraft, 27, was cited for having a bear nuisance attraction.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received four ambulance calls Friday, two on Saturday and one on Sunday.
