Dear Editor: On behalf of staff at Youth Advocates of Sitka, we would like to thank First Bank staff, Board of Directors, and patrons for all their efforts during the Spotlight event in our honor.
We are extremely grateful to everyone involved in making the event a success. We extend a profuse amount of gratitude to all who donated. The amount raised is humbling. It is touching to feel such support from the community and surrounding area. With these donations, we can not only continue to provide services, but we can extend our reach and the depth of our programs. Our mission is to support the mental health of Alaska’s youths and families; our vision is to empower youths to grow into responsible members of the community. Through your generosity, we can carry on supporting a healthy, happy, younger generation. Thank you, First Bank, for making this possible. And thank you, Sitka, for always being there.

Write-In Candidate
Dear Editor: I am writing to support Kitty Sopow as a write-in candidate for Assembly.
I’ve known Kitty for about five years and believe she’ll bring integrity, energy and efficiency to our Assembly. She’s down to earth, a quick learner, and will listen to community members. She has great attention to detail and will be able to look at complex issues and help find creative solutions that will serve long-term community interests.
Kitty also understands the value of taxpayer money and will be a careful steward of city resources.
I support Kitty and hope you will write in Kitty Sopow for Assembly on October 3, and don’t forget to fill in the oval!
