Police Blotter
Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
October 21
A feral kitten found by a resident was placed outside for its mother to find it. When it was still there the following day, it was taken to the shelter.
At 12:56 p.m. a caller said a man at Sandy Beach was dancing around a vehicle and acting strangely, possibly preparing to drive away. It was gone when police arrived.
An ambulance was called for a man having a seizure in a store. He had two children with him, and when he was taken to the hospital and the kids’ mom picked them up.
At 4:49 p.m. a caller said a man with a shopping cart chased after some high school students, yelling at them. Officers told him he could be arrested if more complaints came in.
A resident asked to talk to an officer about kids bullying his son.
A phone was turned in. The owner’s mom said her son was intoxicated at present and she would ask his brother to collect it for him.
A small wallet with ID, cards and cash was reported lost.
At 10:22 p.m. EMT was called for a man with a headache and abdominal pain at the Mariners Wall.
At 10:50 p.m. three people in a vehicle at Upper Moller were advised of park hours.
At 11:04 p.m. a woman complained that a waste oil furnace in a shop up Granite Creek Road was filling her trailer with smoke. Police talked to the shop owner. who said he would make sure the furnace was off.
At 11:46 p.m. a garbage container appeared to have been dragged by a bear on Baranof Street. A citation will be forwarded to the responsible party.
In Court
Lauren N. Petush, 26, was sentenced to 30 days, with 25 suspended, for harassment in the first degree. She will be on probation for a year and is to have no contact with a particular restaurant. She was also sentenced to one day for violating release conditions. Charges of resisting or interfering with an arrest, and disorderly conduct, were dismissed.

Sitka Fire Department dispatched ambulances at 12:49 p.m., 4:21 p.m., and 10:24 p.m. Monday.
