Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today:

October 21

At 12:01 a.m. a bear was reported in the 3200 block of HPR.

Between 12:07 a.m. and 12:25 a.m. police received five bear calls from Darrin Drive and Haven Lane.

At 4:47 a.m. a bear was reported in the 4400 block of HPR.

At 8:49 a.m. a welfare check was requested on Lance Drive.

An animal problem was reported at Park and Biorka streets at 2:10 p.m.

At 6:33 p.m. a business at Lincoln Street and Cathedral Way reported a window had been broken out. An investigation is underway.

A noise complaint came in from Peterson Street at 7:52 p.m.

At 8:56 p.m. a welfare check was requested at Eliason Harbor.

October 22

Between 12:22 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. eight bear calls came in from the 100 block of Harbor Mountain Road and Shuler Drive.

 

 

Sitka Police

Carl Whitehurst, 41, was charged Wednesday with driving with a revoked license and violating conditions of release.

Miguel Garcia, 41, was arrested on a warrant on a failure to appear in court on charges of violating conditions of release and driving with a revoked license.

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received five ambulance calls Wednesday.
