Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

October 28

A boat was reported submerged at Sealing Cove.

At 8:15 a.m. a driver was given a verbal warning for speeding in a school zone, at Blatchley Middle School.

A man reported a parking issue on Gibson Place.

At 10:45 a.m. a city worker reported two unclad people were parked off Raptor Way. They were advised to leave.

A report of sexual abuse of a minor is being investigated.

At 1:32 p.m. a woman said her dog was stuck in a culvert on the Green Lake road.  The animal control officer and fire department personnel responded and got the dog freed.

An incident of drunkenness was reported downtown at 1:34 p.m.

At 4:48 p.m. a woman reported her surf board had been stolen.

At 5:26 p.m. a caller reported a van had been driven the wrong way up Kaagwaantaan Street, which is a one-way street.

A man reported seeing a black backpack left in the 200 block of Lincoln Street. He told police he would check to see if it was still there.

At 5:57 p.m. a caller reported neighbors in a downtown apartment building fought and played music loudly. All was quiet when officers arrived.

At 9:34 p.m. a caller reported a friend might be having a fight with her husband. Officers checked and were told it was OK.

October 29

At 12:33 a.m. fireworks were reported heard in the 2700 block of HPR.

A nurse asked for a welfare check on the children of a patient. Officers found the kids were able to care for themselves.

Sitka Fire Department received eight ambulance calls Thursday.
