Fish to Schools
Dear Editor: The Sitka Conservation Society would like to recognize and extend our appreciations to the fishermen who participated in the Fish to Schools coho donations drive this summer. Thank you, F/V Miracle, F/V Cape Cross, F/V Dryas, F/V Ulla, F/V Minke, F/V Lady Bridget, F/V Sealark, F/V Lady Jo, F/V Deep Sea, F/V Suunta, F/V Merlin and F/V Ip Switch.
We would also like to thank the Seafood Producers Cooperative, Sitka Sound Seafoods, Silver Bay Seafoods, and NSRAA for their sponsorship and support. Additionally we would like to thank the Sitka School District, Sitka School Board, Nana Management Food Service, Pacific High, Mt. Edgecumbe High School, Mt. Fish to Schools will offer over 2,700 local fish lunches to 1,500 Sitka students in the 2013-2014 school year. As a community, we are reshaping our local food system and cultivating the next generation of fishermen and fish-lovers! A cohormous thank you.
