Police Blotter
Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
October 2
At 10 a.m. a caller complained someone was doing construction in the 200 block of Katlian with an “earthmover” and tearing up the road. The Public Works supervisor told police the city didn’t have anyone in the area. An officer responded and found a crew working in a driveway. No equipment was in the roadway and no one was working there.
At 12:26 p.m. a caller reported a domestic incident in progress in a downtown apartment building, with someone yelling and a woman throwing something.  A second call gave  the room where the dispute was occurring. An officer talked to a woman who refused to give her name. She said she and a man had been having an argument, and the man had already left. The officer said she’d been crying but didn’t appear injured.
A Specialized CrossTrail disc bicycle was reported stolen the night of Sept. 30 from Katlian Street.
At 2:47 p.m. a caller said two men were arguing. Police tracked down the caller, who said they were at Back Beach and one man had hit a male relative in the face. Officers found  both men were intoxicated but able to care for themselves. They had gotten into a dispute over a recent death in the family and got into a scuffle, where neither was hurt, police said. They left in a cab after working out their problem.
A robin-egg blue Specialized Pitch bike was reported stolen from the deep water dock at 4517 HPR sometime in June.
A caller reported finding a phone plugged into the outside of his house on Kaagwaantaan Street. Officers took possession of an LG blue cell phone.
A caller said a vehicle had been parked in front of mailboxes in the 2800 block of HPR for the past three days, obstructing her view when she pulls out of her driveway.
At 4:35 p.m. a caller said a man at the skate park pavilion was talking to himself. Dispatch was watching on the camera and saw the man wasn’t bothering the children in the area.
A caller said a visitor had been drinking and had hit her head on the coffee table. She had walked home and now wasn’t answering her phone. Dispatch attempted phone contact but received no answer. An officer made contact and found everything was fine.
At 7:29 p.m. a caller said an SUV parked in the middle of the road at Marine and Erler streets was posing a hazard. An officer checked and determined the vehicle’s location was not a hazard, and it was parked as close to the curb as was possible.
