Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today:

October 29

At 7:40 a.m. a bear was reported at 1408 Edgecumbe Drive.

A theft was reported on Burkhart Street at 11:32 a.m.

A welfare check was requested at Eliason Harbor at 11:43 a.m.

An animal problem was reported at the airport main parking lot at 12:07 p.m.

A lodge reported a domestic problem at 3:20 p.m.

A bewar was seen at 613 DeGroff Street at 4:14 p.m.

Suspicious activity was reported near Centennial Hall at 5:36 p.m.

A gas leak was reported at the Petro Marine North Plant at 7;06 p.m.

At 7:43 p.m. suspicious activity was reported on Peace Lane.

October 30

Between 5 a.m. and 6:24 a.m. 13 bear calls came in, from Wachusetts Street; near the United Methodist Church; the Assembly of God church; 213 Kimsham; Pets Choice in the 1300 block of HPR; 1334 HPR; 1227 and 1231 Georgeson Loop; and 301, 303, 328 and 330 Wachusetts.

 

Sitka Police

Dale Bartelds, 53, was charged with driving under the influence Thursday.

Meg Williams, 64, was cited Thursday for driving with a revoked license.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received one ambulance call Thursday.
