Vote Himschoot, Duncan

Dear Editor: The best indicators of how candidates will perform in office are their records and their campaigns. That is why I am voting for Crystal Duncan and Rebecca Himschoot for seats on the Sitka Assembly.

Rebecca and Crystal have long records of distinguished service in Sitka. Crystal elevated our whole community with her work on Indigenous People’s Day. Rebecca has nourished the curiosity and creativity of a generation of Sitka students. They have both run campaigns characterized by hard work, knowledge of the community and respect for all Sitkans. I am confident that they will carefully consider all of our opinions and needs and make good choices on difficult issues as members of the Assembly.

Assembly Vote

Dear Editor: Really, Mr. Albertson, I was forwarded the response you wrote to the local restaurant,  is this how you want to speak to Sitkans? How can someone be a fascist and a Marxist at the same time? Please enlighten me. Thank you.

Please vote for Crystal Duncan and Rebecca Himschoot for Assembly. Thank You!

Vote for Himschoot

Dear Editor: I am not usually a person to write in support of a candidate for any public office, but given the times that we are facing, I feel that stating my support of Rebecca Himschoot for Sitka city Assembly is something that I must do.

I have worked with Rebecca and have dealt with her on a number of committees in our professional lives. She has proved to be thoughtful and has shown a remarkable ability to take all perspectives into account when making her decisions. With our current lives being so divisive politically, someone on the Assembly who will hear everyone’s point of view and deliberate thoughtfully is a person that we truly need.

Rebecca is a person who will do the work that needs to be done to make the best decisions to help Sitka move forward. She loves the people, the environment, and believes in the need for a stable economy. She asks intelligent questions, listens intently and carefully, does the research when she believes she needs more information, and keeps a calm demeanor when situations get tense. All are the traits of an excellent Assembly person.

If you have not already voted, there is still time to select Rebecca Himschoot to fill one of our Sitka Assembly seats. She will do the job that needs to be done and help to move Sitka into the future.

Corrupting Sitka

Dear Editor: Hello fellow Sitkans. The Attorney General, William has just recognized ANTIFA and BLM and their Marxist tactics are being paid for by individuals like George Soros. Now, I am calling for an investigation into any and all moneys coming into Sitka through George Soros or one of his entities. Because, if anybody in this community is receiving any Soros money, whether it’s personal or business, and especially any nonprofits. This money needs to be stopped immediately and the recipients be held to account.

For Soros is anti-American. He advocates for destroying America and everything it stands for. And, anybody accepting Soros money knows of his agenda and is, apparently, perfectly fine with it.

I am calling for an investigation by the Assembly to look into this matter AND I, Marshall Albertson, am also hiring a private investigator to look into this. We need to know the truth and we need to know who, in this community, hates America enough to accept Soros money. I will report any and all findings, WITHOUT BIAS, to the people of Sitka. And when and if I am elected , I Promise, I will do everything in my power to make sure that all this anti-American money will stay out of Alaska and quit corrupting the system.

Marshall Albertson, Sitka

Voting for Duncan

Dear Editor: Filibuster sucks.

Crystal Duncan has my vote! Crystal Duncan’s academic credentials are awesome. Crystal Duncan has the patience, persistence and intellect to endure interminable Assembly meetings.

God bless her ...

COVID-19 seems to have mutated since appearing in the year 2019. COVID-19 may inhabit the body of its host only to erupt with symptoms again months after initial infection.

Candidate Albertson

Dear Editor: I am dismayed to see one candidate turn our local election into a  referendum on facism. Marshall Albertson waves his degraded flag on the Swan Lake roundabout, shouting ‘‘All Lives Matter!’’

And, then he goes home to make videos championing Kenosha’s kid killer, Kyle Rittenhaus.

I urge anyone considering voting for Albertson to do some due-diligence. Go to TikTok and Youtube videos. Type in ‘‘Marshall Albertson, Sitka, AK’’ See for yourself candidate Albertson’s hateful ranting, and incitement of violence in our community. There you’ll see for yourself that Marshall B. Albertson poses a clear and present threat to public safety in our otherwise peaceful community.

In a front page story on fisheries in Friday’s Sentinel, Rep. Dan Ortiz was listed as a Democrat. He is an independent member of the state House of Representatives, from Ketchikan.
