Police Blotter
Sitka Police Department received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
October 4
At 1:44 a.m. citizen contact was made near the library.
At 2:27 a.m. citizen contact was made at the Starrigavan boat launch.
At 5:19 a.m. a security check was made at the airport parking lot.
At 5:54 a.m. citizen contact was made at an inn in the 1300 block of SMC.
A found property call came in from Baranof school at 8:24 a.m.
At 10:25 a.m. a theft was reported at Eliason Harbor.
At 1:25 p.m. an animal call came in from the 1700 block of SMC.
At 1:27 p.m. a suspicious person was reported in the 200 block of Lake Street.
At 1:44 p.m. a caller said she had been involved in a vehicle accident at Oja Way and Monastery. No injuries were reported.
October 5
At 12:19 a.m. a parking problem was reported at Kramer Avenue and HPR.
At 12:27 a.m. a traffic hazard was reported at the ferry terminal.
Five warnings about having bear attractants were issued to residents between the 2600 block and 2900 block of HPR.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received two ambulance calls.
Sitka Police
Phillip Abeyta, 29, was charged Tuesday with assault in the fourth degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree.
Terrance Roth, 22, was charged Tuesday with violating conditions of release stemming from a May charge of theft in the second degree.
