Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
October 5
At 12:26 a.m. people were reported at the shooting range in the 5200 block of HPR. They told officers skies were clear and they were looking at stars
At 2:26 a.m. a bear was reported to have dragged trash on Observatory Street. Officers picked up the trash.
At 6:12 a.m. and 6:34 a.m. officers gave residents in the 200 block of Marine Street verbal warnings for having garbage out. The officers picked up the garbage.
A traffic accident with some damage was reported at 7:47 a.m. in the 700 block of SMC.
A resident on Granite Creek reported a possible case of fraud online about a subscription.
A large dog wearing a pink collar was reported in the road in the 4800 block of HPR at 8:50 a.m. It was gone when the animal control officer arrived.
At 11:53 a.m. Alaska Airlines reported a bag had been left at the terminal. However, it was gone when officers arrived.
At 12:56 a.m. a driver reported hitting a parked vehicle on Seward Street, but when she returned from getting paper to leave a note the vehicle had left, she said.
At 3 p.m. a park ranger talked to two people fishing at totem park.
A caller in the 1200 block of SMC reported property missing. Police are investigating.
At 4:19 p.m. a rear-ender was reported in the 600 block of HPR. One person was taken to the hospital by ambulance but a person in the second vehicle declined EMS.
At 5:37 p.m. a dead deer was found entangled in seaweed on Back Beach.
At 6:34 p.m. a small dog and a person were reported to have clashed on Burkhart Drive. The animal control officer was called.
A water drainage problem was reported in the 300 block of Seward Street at 6:07 p.m.
At 11:25 p.m. the back panel of a mail box at 1952 HPR was reported unlocked.
At 11:55 p.m. a bear call came in from 1401 Georgeson Loop.
October 6
At 2:59 a.m. an officer reported two bears were getting into the trash at the National Park visitor center. The officer scared them off.

Oran L. McGraw Jr., 45, was charged Tuesday with violating conditions of release.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department responded to a traffic accident at 4:22 p.m. in the 600 block of HPR, where one vehicle had rear-ended another. One person was taken to the hospital.
Other ambulance calls came in at 12:13 p.m., 5:10 p.m. and 11:29 p.m.
