Prescriptions Response
Dear Editor: In reference to the Letter to the Editor about prescriptions, I had the opposite experience with SEARHC in regards to my prescriptions. In one instance the doctor said, “Would you like me to call this to White’s.” In another instance the nurse called me and told me that the doctor had just called in a prescription to White’s for me. I did not have to say anything, they did this on their own. There is no reason to be so angry. I am not saying that all of my care as gone smoothly at SEARHC, but medical care does not go smoothly anywhere. Just be assertive, not so angry.

Fish to Schools
Dear Editor: An enormous thank you to our partners and supporters who worked hard to make the 2019 Fish to Schools Donation Drive a success.
Thank you to all the fisher people who donated wild, Alaskan seafood. We will never take it for granted that in the face of a changing climate and uncertain fishing seasons, you continue to give so that Sitka’s children can enjoy a local fish lunch each Wednesday.
Thank you to the Seafood Producers Cooperative, Sitka Sound Seafoods and Samson Tug and Barge for collecting, processing and storing donations. You play such an important role in our local economy and we’re grateful for this additional way that you give back.
Thank you to Head Start, Mt. Edgecumbe High School, Sitka School District, and the SEER School for valuing these donations and turning them into nutritious meals for our children. Thank you also for all you do to provide Sitka youths with a sense of place.
And finally, thank you to the Fish to Schools founders Lexi Fish and Beth Short Rhodes for your leadership and volunteerism. This program would not exist without your clear vision.
We’re grateful to be a part of this community. Here’s to a great school year!
