Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today:

October 7

At 2 a.m. a bear was reported on Tilson Street.

An animal problem was reported on Remington Way at 5:57 a.m.

At 7:29 a.m. suspicious activity was reported at AC Lakeside.

At 7:47 a.m. a bear was reported on Verstovia Street.

A protective order violation is under investigation.

A case of fraud was reported on Edgecumbe Drive.

An animal problem was reported on Remington Way.

At 1:38 p.m. an animal problem was reported in the 3800 block of HPR.

A domestic problem was reported at Lincoln Street and Harbor Drive at 1:45 p.m.

A welfare check was made at 1:52 p.m. in the 3200 block of HPR.

A report of drunkenness at a downtown bar was logged at 2:19 p.m.

At 2:48 p.m. criminal mischief was reported at the O’Connell Bridge.

An animal problem was reported at Indian River at 3:44 p.m.

A report of forgery is under investigation.

At 4:21 p.m. drunkenness was reported at a downtown bar.

Bears were reported on Barker Street at 9:37 p.m., and on Cascade Creek Road at 10:18 p.m.

At 10:31 p.m. a complaint of noise at an apartment house in downtown Sitka was received.

October 8

At 12:01 a.m. a bear was reported on Barker Street.

At 12:04 a.m. an assault was reported at a downtown bar.

Bears were reported on Wortman Loop at 12:16 a.m.; on Cascade Creek Road at 12:55 a.m.; at Centennial Hall at 1:29 a.m.; and on Merrill Street at 2:41 a.m.

 

Sitka Police

Randi Castillo, 26, was charged Wednesday night with driving under the influence and violating conditions of release.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 11:41 a.m., 3:51 p.m. and 8:12 p.m. Wednesday and at 3:11 a.m. today.

 

At 9:15 a.m. and 5:41 p.m. fire alarms that were being tested sounded.
