October 7
At 5:16 a.m. a bear call came in from Kelly Street, in the 900 block of Lincoln Street.
At 7:25 a.m. a caller said a boat was dragging anchor. Police notified the Coast Guard and Harbors Dept.
A family dispute over child custody was reported.
At 12:47 p.m. a caller reported receiving a spam message on a computer. Police offered advice on options.
A theft report in the 700 block of HPR is under investigation.
Traffic stops were reported at 6:38 p.m. in the 700 block of HPR; at 7:58 at 1400 HPR; at 8:02 p.m. at McDonald’s; at 8:15 p.m. at 1600 HPR; at 8:25 p.m. at 1300 HPR; at 8:36 p.m. at 1300 HPR; at 8:41 p.m. in the 1800 block of HPR; at 9:16 p.m. at 1500 HPR; at 9:18 p.m at 1500 HPR; at 9:20 p.m. at 1500 HPR; at 9:26 p.m. at 307 Kashevaroff; at 9:26 p.m. at Peterson Avenue and HPR; at 9:33 p.m. on Raptor Way; at 10:03 p.m. in the 300 block of Seward Street; and at 10:10 p.m. near Baranof Elementary.
October 8
At 2:56 a.m. a caller on Spruce Street said a bear had spread garbage, which the caller had cleaned up.
At 3:50 a.m. an officer reported scaring a bear away in the1900 block of Dodge Circle.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department reported receiving a false report on Metlakatla at 11:27 a.m. Thursday, and an ambulance call at 5:28 a.m. today.
