Animal Shelter Support
Dear Editor: I have adopted pets from shelters for many years and the last two were cats from the Sitka Animal Shelter.
I also support the shelter and the volunteers who help them. I cannot think of one good reason to make life miserable by giving them less. I also was appalled to hear the time limit on how long the shelter can keep dogs and I assume cats while trying to find an appropriate home.
I sincerely hope you (the City) will go back to supporting the shelter and all those who help them.

Sitka Visit
Dear Editor: Our party of four arrived on Sept. 17. The ship was Ovation of the Sea. We really enjoyed the area. Being from Arizona, it was a 50 degree temperature swing. Very nice.
Our bus driver gave a great talk about the area. The clean comfort station was a very nice touch. Got some great souvenirs at a great price. Hope to come back.

Babies and Books
Dear Editor: The Sitka Babies and Books Committee wishes to once again express our appreciation for Sitka Rotary Club’s generous contribution to our organization.
Because groups like the Sitka Rotary Club are committed to opportunities for enhancing the lives of our sitka children, our non-profit organization can continue its mission to ensure that all Sitka children become lifelong readers by providing books to children and parent education and support during the first three years of a child’s life.
