Dear Editor: Thank you Sitka for your continued support of the Sitka Performing Arts Center through attendance at our live performances. Since the Performing Arts Center belongs to you, as residents of Sitka, we want to share some fun facts:
*The PAC is under your ownership through the City of Sitka.
*Approximately 10,500 people watch shows at the PAC annually from student performances and community theater to world renowned performing artists.
*The Sitka Performing Arts Center is known as one of the finest performance facilities in the country because of its acoustics, aesthetic beauty, and high quality equipment.
*Proceeds from ticket sales go directly toward its management and upkeep. When you attend a show at the PAC, you help keep the facility healthy into the future.
*You can also support the PAC by naming an auditorium chair after someone through our Take A Seat program.
*The theater hosts state of the art lighting and staging equipment allowing it to present the most complex professional performances from film to theater to circus arts to music.
*Our PAC has a 9-foot Steinway grand piano attracting world class pianists to Sitka.
*All performances are supported by local volunteers who usher, manage the front of the house, build sets and costumes, and help with stage management.
