Police Blotter
Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
May 20
A man getting agitated at a facility and throwing things was taken to the hospital.
At 11:36 a.m. a caller said earlier in the morning a bear was in her yard on Sirstad Street eating a neighbor's garbage.
At 1:48 p.m. a yellow Lab was reported running at large on Price Street. The animal control officer was notified.
At 7:13 p.m. a person spoke to an officer at the station about a man being rude. The officer suggested options in dealing with the situation.
At 7:45 p.m. a car was reported to have stalled in the middle of the road on Cannon Island and the driver was having trouble finding a tow. Police gave some options.
At 8:23 p.m. a caller said a woman riding a bicycle inbound past Halibut Point Recreation Area was flipping off drivers as she rode.
At 11:44 p.m. a man who had been trespassed from a grocery store was reported to have returned and was attempting to shoplift. Police opened a case on the matter.
May 21
At 2:13 a.m. a vehicle was reported to have struck and killed a deer in the 2000 block of HPR. The deer's remains were taken to the Raptor Center.
In Court
Amanda E. Tison-Diamond, 40, was charged Tuesday with assault in the second degree, domestic violence, a class B felony.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received five ambulance calls Tuesday.
