Dear Editor: Ocean Wave Quilt Guild Scholarship 29th annual small quilt and related items auction is over and was again a big success. The guild will be able to award three scholarships, because of the generosity of those who came and supported the auction.
Twenty-one mini quilts went home with happy winners along with many more items that ranged from fabric to quilts, books and quilting tools.
We extend a huge thank you to the great helpers from Harrigan Centennial Hall staff and the guild members who worked behind the scenes and during the auction, several who took on more than one job.
Also thanks to the Daily Sitka Sentinel and KCAW for publicity, and businesses that hung our posters.
Of course, it also wouldn’t have been such a great success without the many who donated the little works-of-art quilts and other auctions items and all the supporters who showed up and bid generously.
We couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you
