Dear Editor: I marched in the Alaska Day parade in the contingent supporting JKT for Governor.
By the time I got to the Pioneers Home I was out of candy to distribute and I held my empty bag upside down for the children to see I had no candy.
A young boy, I would guess to be around 6, came up to me and told me I could have some of his candy. He reached into his bag of candy he’d collected and used both of his hands to pulled out about eight pieces of candy and put them in my bag. I shared that candy with kids along the remainder of the route.
That incredible random act of kindness left with renewed hope and a smile and a warm spot in my heart. A big thank you goes out to young BoyA, whoever he is.
