Results Given for Herring Protectors Race

More than 40 Sitkans turned out to run or walk in the second annual Herring Protectors 5k race, Saturday in cool, overcast weather at Whale Park.

Unlike last year’s event, the Sawmill Creek multi-use path was free of snow and ice this weekend.

The running results for the five kilometer course that followed the shoreline of Silver Bay to the Gary Paxton Industrial Park and then back uphill to Whale Park are below. Walkers were not timed.
