He was a high-steel painter by trade, and worked all over the western United States. He arrived in Sitka in August 1998.
He is survived by his wife, Lanis Beach, Sitka; daughters Loretta Beach, Cindy Beach, and Lavada Beach; granddaughter, Mi Mi Beach; and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He also is survived by three brothers, Tom Beach, Dick Beach, and Harry Beach, who live in California and Washington.
His desire was to return to Sitka to be with his wife, reconnect with his friends, and use his boat. His ashes will be interred in San Bernardino, Calif., , as he wished to be buried with his beloved mother.
His wife, Lanis, a Sitka School District educator, will hold a gathering with friends in Sitka this coming summer to celebrate his life.
He was a resident of Sitka since August of 1998.
