Robert Duane Cockrum, a Sitka resident since 1983, died May 3 at his home in Sitka. He was 62.
He was born Dec. 23, 1963, in Redding, California, the son of Sharon (Ward) and James Cockrum. He moved to Sitka on June 6, 1983, and has lived here ever since. . He began work for AC Lakeside in 2011.
On February 2, 2012, he and Holly Trudeau were wed.
Archery was Bob's passion, and he also enjoyed taking photos. He was a family man, hard-working, and a great man, his famly said.
Robert is survived by his wife, Holly Cockrum of Sitka; his son James E. Cockrum of Sitka; his and former wife Shirley's daughters Lisa and Deanna Cockrum of Sitka; his sister Diana Wirth, of Klamath Falls, Oregon; his uncle and aunt Brian and Janice Ward; nieces Dana Wirth of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and Dayle Kingsley; and a cousin Melissa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sharon John and James Cockrum; his grandparents Royal and Esther Taylor; and a half-brother, James Cockrum.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 17, at the Assembly of God church. The family requests no flowers. Donations and cards may be sent to Holly, at P.O. Box 6061.
