Dear Editor: The Tulong Aral Scholarship Committee would like to thank Linda Trierschield for her generous donation to the Tulong Aral Scholarship. This donation will fund at least one full scholarship in 2026!
Since we began this scholarship in 2022, we have awarded scholarships to 26 students pursuing careers in medicine, teaching, engineering and culinary arts. Due to the generosity of donors like Ms. Trierschield, we have been able to award a scholarship to every single qualified applicant to the Tulong Aral. Through this scholarship, we are investing in our children, their education and careers, and the strength of our community in the future. We thank you for making this happen.
The Tulong Aral Scholarship Committee is working to create a sustainable scholarship encouraging Filipino and Filipino-American students to pursue further education. Community organizations and citizens who are interested in supporting the Tulong Aral scholarship through donations or participation on the committee can call/text Kari Sagel at 907 752-7323. We are actively seeking sponsors and fundraising opportunities. We wish to expand this scholarship to provide even more support to our students.
Thank you to the following members of the committee for their commitment to the scholarship: Marc Dumag, Brittany Dumag, Betty Richter, Kari Sagel, Brooke Rivera, Laura Rogers, Jarred Rivera, Megan Reid, Jojo Nabua and Jennifer Tulloh.
Thank you,
Tulong Aral Scholarship Committee
