    Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
September 10
    At 7:53 a.m. a caller said intoxicated men were drinking and hollering at passersby at the Crescent Harbor  covered area. One of the men was taken to a hospital for evaluation due to his level of intoxication.
    At 8 a.m. a caller said an intoxicated man had almost walked into traffic on the O’Connell bridge. An officer found he was able to care for himself.
    Autos at 1617 SMC, 100 Charles St., and 500 Granite Creek (two of them) were marked as abandoned.
    A driver complained a bus goes 10 miles under the speed limit out SMC, and she lives out that road and she’s tired of it.
    An officer made contact with two people on Katlian who aren’t supposed to be driving, and confiscated the keys of one. The vehicle was impounded.
    At 1 p.m. a hotel asked for assistance with an intoxicated man who had been kicked out and was now sitting on the curb screaming at people. He was cited and advised to stay out of bars and liquor stores for the rest of the day. He also was given a disorderly conduct warning and one-year trespass notices from two locations.
    A caller said a man was drinking in the Moller field dugout. An officer talked to two men and gave them warnings for having open containers.
    At 3:12 p.m. Harbors reported a fight in progress at the Crescent net shed. When officers arrived the fighting had stopped. Two men were given warnings for having open containers and for disorderly conduct, and told  that they would be trespassed from all harbors if they repeated the bad behavior.
    Dispatch received a domestic violence order to be served.
    At 9:44 p.m. a caller in the 800 block of Lincoln Street said an intoxicated man was screaming profanities outside her office building. She said it isn’t the first time she’s encountered the man, but this time he’s intoxicated and harassing her and her co-workers. Officers responded and the man left the property.
    At 10:08 p.m. a caller on Peterson Street reported hearing a child screaming, and not for the first time. The caller said she often hears a woman yelling along with the child crying. An officer was advised.
    At 10:38 p.m. a caller on Monastery Street said he was locked out of his apartment. Dispatch gave him the number of a taxi but the man called back to say no one was answering the phone at the taxi company. The fire hall assisted him in unlocking the apartment door.
    September 11
    Jail staff said an inmate had contacted the victim in his current domestic violence case.
    At 5:38 a.m. a caller said a vehicle appeared to have broken down in the middle of Katlian Street, posing a hazard. He said he’d seen a few people trying to push it but weren’t having much success. An officer contacted a man and helped him get the vehicle out of the road until a gas station opened.       

Sitka Police
    Joseph Williams, 43, was charged Tuesday morning with criminal trespass in the second degree.
    Jake Kranz, 24, was charged Tuesday morning with assault in the fourth degree (domestic violence) and criminal mischief in the fourth degree.Early today he was charged with unlawful contact.
    Walter Washington, 35, was cited Tuesday for having an open container.

Emergency Calls
    Sitka Fire Department received an ambulance call at 4:37 p.m. Tuesday, and two minor fire calls at 10:29 p.m. and 10:56 p.m.
