Dear Editor: Our ‘‘motherlode’’ porch sale, held last Saturday at Camp Starlight, was a huge success!
It was a fundraiser for Tristan Rhodes who, due to an injury, is unable to work for several months.
A big heartfelt ‘‘thank you’’ to the people of Sitka! The people who donated items to sell. Everyone who came early to help us set up. To those who showed up to buy and those who added money to the donation jar.

Municipal Election
Dear Editor: We are writing to thank all seven members of the Sitka Assembly for advancing stability, civility and sustainability through their service in local government.
This Assembly has focused on finding common ground and solving problems while listening to residents and each other with respect and patience.
We want to see that continue. To that end, we are voting to re-elect Steven Eisenbeisz as mayor and Thor Christensen as an Assembly member. To fill the other open seat on the Assembly, we are voting for Chris Ystad. Kevin Mosher has done an excellent job as a member of the Assembly, and we are happy to see him continue in this role.
