Sitka Police Department received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

September 14

At 9:19 a.m. parking rules were enforced in the 100 block of Lincoln Street.

At 9:30 a.m. an abandoned vehicle was reported in the 100 block of Jeff Davis.

At 1:10 p.m. a parking problem was reported in the 2100 block of SMC.

At 4:26 p.m. what was termed a domestic problem was reported on Jarvis Street.

At 7:17 p.m. a found property call came in from the 700 block of HPR.

At 8:27 p.m. a call involving trespassing came in from the 1800 block of HPR.

A disturbance was reported at the corner of Cathedral Way and Lincoln Street at 9:49 p.m.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department sent an engine to the O’Connell Bridge lightering facility at 1:48 p.m. Wednesday in response to smoke coming from a trash can. The truck crew doused the smoldering fire with water.

The department also responded to four ambulance calls and one false fire alarm Wednesday.

 

Coast Guard

A Coast Guard Air Station Sitka crew on Wednesday medevacked a 56-year-old woman with a medical emergency on board a cruise ship near Klawock.

The call came in at 9:35 p.m., the helicopter launched at 10:22 p.m. and arrived in the area at 11:16 p.m. The patient was hoisted into the helicopter from the ship’s port bow for the flight to Sitka, where she was met by EMS at 12:32 a.m. today, the Coast Guard said.
