Police Blotter
Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
September 17
Keys were turned in.
Drug contraband found in an area frequented by youths was turned in.
An iPod was lost sometime in the past few weeks.
At 3:40 p.m. a caller said a child was hit in the crosswalk at Peterson Street but a second caller said the victim was an adult. A woman was taken to the hospital.
A domestic violence order was given to police to serve.
At 7:06 p.m. a man and woman were reported fighting in front of their trailer over a bow and arrow. The woman allegedly threw things and was arrested, police said.
At 7:36 p.m. a resident said while he was parked on Katlian Street a driver pulled in next to him so he couldn’t get out and yelled at him. He said the driver, who may have been intoxicated, had taken off.
A resident said he had lost his wallet the previous night, and someone tried to use his credit card at a local restaurant. Police are investigating the report of fraud.
At 9:39 p.m. a possibly drunk driver was seen in the 6000 block of HPR. Police didn’t see any erratic drivers while checking the area.
At 9:45 p.m. a shotgun sound was reported downtown, perhaps at a Kaagwaantaan Street residence, a caller said. Police patrolled and found no signs of disturbances.
September 18
At 1:15 a.m. a resident reported a domestic disturbance. Police talked to a resident, who said she had been upset because she couldn’t find her phone. She was given a disorderly conduct warning.
Sitka Police
Veronica Falzerano, 48, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of assault in the fourth degree, domestic violence.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 3:37 p.m., 5:09 p.m. and 6:41 p.m. Tuesday.
