Sitka Police Department received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

September 19

At 2:48 a.m. an incident of drunkenness was logged in the 200 block of Baranof Street.

At 4:16 a.m. a possible case of fraud was reported to police at the station.

At 10:50 a.m. a theft was reported to police.

Police made contact with a citizen at Crescent Harbor at 11 a.m.

At 2:15 p.m. a traffic complaint came in from SMC and Shotgun Alley.

At 3:21 p.m. a welfare check was requested in the100 block of Lincoln Street.

At 5:19 p.m. a disturbance was reported at the national park visitor center.

At 6;04 p.m. a traffic accident that resulted in damage to public property was reported in the 100 block of Lincoln Street.

At 9:03 p.m. suspicious activity was reported at the airport.

September 20

At 2:06 a.m. a traffic accident was reported in the 200 block of Smith Street. A driver had lost control and struck a black trash can then a parked vehicle. The accident is under investigation.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 10:39 a.m., 4:53 p.m. and 8:16 p.m. Monday.

 

 

Coast Guard

A Coast Guard Air Station Sitka helicopter on Monday medevacked a 50-year-old woman from Hoonah to Sitka.

The Air Station received the call at 6:36 a.m. and launched a helicopter at 6:48 a.m. The crew picked up the woman in Hoonah and arrived back in Sitka at 8:33 a.m. where she was met by an awaiting EMS crew, the Coast Guard said.
