Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today:

September 22

Suspicious activity was reported near the Lake and Lincoln streets intersection at 2:28 a.m.

At 5:32 a.m. a welfare check was requested on Haven Lane.

At 8:29 a.m. a traffic complaint came in from Blatchley Middle School.

A bicycle was reported stolen on Lillian Drive.

A protective order was requested at 12:23 p.m.

A civil dispute arose at Baranof Elementary at 6:27 p.m.

A welfare check was requested at Crescent Harbor at 11:09 p.m.

A bear was reported on Georgeson Loop at 12:02 a.m.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received no ambulance calls Tuesday.

 

In Court

Francis Tagulao Morse, 53, was convicted of sexual abuse of a minor in the third degree (contact age 13-15 with the defendant 17 or older plus 4 years older than the victim), a class C felony. The date of the offense was Sept. 15, 2018. He was sentenced to one year, and is to register as a sex offender for 15 years.
