Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

September 23

A caller reported a phone scam. He was referred to a consumer complaint center.

At 9:16 a.m. police assisted the adult probation office.

At 10:04 a.m. a controlled burn was noted in the 1800 block of SMC.

A caller said a truck appeared to be pulling a trailer that might be too heavy. However, the truck successfully got through traffic.

At 4:49 p.m. and again at 7:14 p.m.  officers were asked to check on the welfare of children in a home. The adults present were found to be able to care for the kids.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received six ambulance calls Thursday.

At 1:52 a.m. a fire crew went to the 600 block of DeGroff Street where an oil stove had overheated. The crew cooled it down.
