Sitka Police Department received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
September 23
At 3:47 p.m. a civil dispute was reported on Burkhart Street.
A found property report came in from the 400 block of Lincoln Street at 8:14 p.m.
A weapons offense was reported at the skate park at 10:58 p.m., after two persons were caught on the surveillance camera with rifle. Police found it was a BB gun and advised the two persons, who were juveniles, not to carry it since it could be mistaken for a rifle.
At 11:24 p.m. a juvenile problem was reported in the 300 block of Lincoln Street.
September 24
At 8:11 a.m. police made contact with a citizen in the airport parking lot.
At 8:14 a.m. a report of a suspicious person came in from a downtown bar.
An animal call came in at 10:22 a.m. from Shotgun Alley.
A store in the 700 block of HPR reported shoplifting.
At 2:24 p.m. a found property report came in from a storage company on Jarvis Street.
At 6:13 p.m. a caller reported suspicious activity at Totem Square.
A traffic complaint came in from HPR and Lake Street at 8:41 p.m.
A suspicious person reported came in from the 200 block of Katlian at 9:19 p.m.
At 9:57 p.m. a problem involving a juvenile was reported at Crescent Harbor.
At 10:55 p.m. two juveniles were cited for minor consuming alcohol, and one of them was cited also for violating conditions of release.
September 25
A report of littering came in from Pioneer Park at 7:54 a.m.
A welfare check was requested on Verstovia Avenue at 10:15 a.m.
A theft was reported at 11 a.m. at a store in the 1200 block of SMC.
A traffic accident with some damage was reported at Baranof and Biorka streets at 3:08 p.m.
A found property report came in from Kaasda Heen Circle at 3:48 p.m.
At 6:08 p.m. a citizen was assisted at Centennial Hall.
September 26
At 1:43 a.m. citizen contact was made at the lightering facility.
At 2:45 a.m. citizen contact was made at the Castle Hill parking lot.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received three ambulance calls Friday, two ambulance calls and a false fire alarm on Saturday; and two more ambulance calls and a false fire alarm on Sunday.
Sitka Police
Steven A. Benson, 30, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
Steven G. Zidell, 33, was charged Friday with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
Justin Osbakken, 31, was arrested on a warrant on a charge of violating conditions of release on a felony drug charge.
Wildlife Troopers
Donald Torgeson, 74, of Sitka, was cited for taking and delivering for sale a commercial troll-caught king salmon of less than 28 inches in length, on Sept. 20, wildlife troopers said.
Marsha Howard, 69, of Sitka, was cited for landing sablefish in excess of the legal equal quotashare for the Northern Southeast Inside Subdistrict Sablefish fishery on Sept. 23, troopers said.
