Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

September 27

At 4:20 a.m. a bear was reported to have spread trash near the Public Safety Academy.

A report of sexual abuse of a minor is being investigated.

At 10:49 a.m. a small manhole cover was reported kicked aside, at Edgecumbe Drive and Cascade Creek Road. The city public works department was notified.

At 3:30 p.m. a welfare check was requested on a woman having problems.Officers located her.

At 5:58 p.m. two dogs were reported running at large at Eliason Harbor. The animal patrol officer was notified.

At 7:42 p.m. a woman reported hearing someone knocking on her window. Officers checked the area.

At 8:34 p.m. an assault was reported on Japonski Island. Police are investigating.

September 28

At 12:10 a.m. a dispute was reported over damage to some power tools. Officers talked to those involved.

 

Sitka Police

June Mukpik, 40, was cited Monday for driving with a revoked license.
