Sitka High swept their invitational track and field meet over the weekend, with the Wolves girls scoring 159 points and the Wolves boys scoring 170, finishing on top of the team standings over Juneau-Douglas (147 girls /92 boys), Thunder Mountain (60/40), Ketchikan (28/54), and Haines (22/80).
Senior Garrison Lass set the tone of Sitka’s meet with an opening event win in the boys high jump at 6 feet 1 inch, and sophomore Tayler Clifton, senior Mattey Stroemer, and sophomore Audrey Saiz placed 2nd-4th for the girls with matching 4-04 jumps (JDHS’ Ayah Frayley won with 4-06).
Wolves junior Dominic Baciocco captured four first place runs for Sitka, winning the 800, 1600, and 3200 races, and was part of the boys 4x800 relay.
Baciocco won the boys 800 in 2:13.46 (2nd, senior Jacob Gagner 2:19.77, 3rd junior Asa Demmert 2:20.09, 4th junior Derek Bartlett 2:21.93, 5th freshman Gaige Rosas 2:22.22); the 1600 in 4:46.74 (2nd senior Skyler McIntyre 4:48.45, 8th Bartlett 5:13.43, DQ Demmert 5:08.05); and the 3200 in 9:58.00 (2nd McIntyre 10:03.00, 8th Bartlett 11:15.00).
The Sitka boys 4x800 relay team of Baciocco, McIntyre, Demmert, and Gagner won in 8:56.58.
Senior Jessica Davis provided the muscle of the meet, winning the girls shot put with 31-04 (4th sophomore Morgan Feldpausch 26-03, 6th sophomore Jocelyn Brady 24-07) and the discus with 84-04 (4th Brady 75-06, 6th Feldpausch 71-08, 7th senior Kaylahni Weddel 71-06, 10th junior Chloe Cagle 61-06, 10th sophomore Grace McBride 9-10).
Wolves senior Joei Vidad also sped to four wins.

Vidad won the girls 100 dash in 12.82 (2nd sophomore Lindsey Bartolaba 13.43, 10th freshman Adelaide Poulson 14.63, 12th sophomore Makayla Moore 14.72, 13th sophomore Allison Christner 15.00, 19th freshman Alyssa Henshaw 15.52, 20th freshman Rainy McClenahan 15.62, 22nd Clifton 15.88, 24th junior Sophia Perry 16.50, 27th McAdams 16.59, 28th McBride 39.91); and the girls 200 meters in 26.81 (2nd L. Bartolaba in 28.22).

Vidad was also part of the Sitka girls winning 4x100 of Clifton, Vidad, L. Bartolaba and H. Bartolaba in 54.59, and the girls 4x400 win in 4:33.32.
Wolves senior Aedon Dumag won the boys long jump with a leap of 18-03 (5th sophomore Jemar Diga 16-08, 8th Rheece Heim 16-00).
Wolves senior Tabor Buxton won the boys 100 in 11.91 (4th Dumag 12.09, 6th sophomore Carson Grant 12.35, 11th sophomore Jemar Diga 13.28, 12th sophomore Sean Schmitt 13.50, 15th freshman Sergio Carlos 13.58, 19th sophomore Daniel Nelson 14.16, 22nd freshman Chatham Clark 14.84, 23rd senior John Morrow 15.25, 26th senior David Williams 26.13); and the boys 400 in 57.06 (4th Gagner 57.81).

TMHS sophomore Ali Beya the boys 200 in 24.91 (2nd Grant 25.09, 3rd Buxton 25.43), and TMHS sophomore Hannah Deer won the girls 400 in 1:05.25.
JDHS freshman Trinity Jackson won the girls long jump with a 13-10 (2nd sophomore Audrey Saiz 12-10, 3rd sophomore Allison Christner 12-04, 4th H. Bartolaba 12-03, 9th Clifton 10-03, 12th freshman Adelaide Poulson 9-02, 13th freshman Alyssa Henshaw 8-11, 16th sophomore Delaney McAdams 6-06).
Hailey Bartolaba races to a second place finish in the girls 300 hurdles.
Ketchikan freshman Ada Odden won the girls 300 hurdles in 51.09 (2nd H. Bartolaba 52.19) and Haines sophomore Carson Crager the boys 300 hurdles in 46.88.
TMHS junior Lindzy Nguyen won the girls triple jump (27-02) and JDHS freshman Jake Sleppy won the boys with 37-02 (3rd Dumag 36-00).
TMHS sophomore Hannah Deer won the girls 800 in 2:40.15 (3rd freshman Tawny Smith 2:43.83, 6th Ella Lubin 3:05.07, 7th sophomore Kathleen Sweeney 3:15.46, NT Saiz).
JDHS junior Sadie Tuckwood won the girls 1600 in 5:37.38 (4th Smith 6:20.65, 6th Lubin 6:48.06, 8th senior Olivia Wilcox 6:51.65, 9th Saiz 7:11.94, 10th Sweeney 7:20.79); and the girls 3200 in 11:27.00 (3rd Lubin 14:20, 4th Wilcox 14:53).
HNS sophomore Wesley Verhamme topped the boys shot at 42-10 (3rd Dumag 37-02, 5th Lass 33-07, 6th junior Maximus Johnson 31-10, 8th sophomore Noah Blackmon 28-09, 9th senior Dhariel Rodrigo 26-11, 12th freshman Dalton Voron 24-10, 13th freshman Alex Johnson 23-05, 14th senior John Morrow 20-04); and the boys discus at 119-09 (4th M. Johnson 96-09, 6th Heim 90-09, 9th Rodrigo 79-02, 11th Voron 72-03, 12th Lass 71-08, 14th A. Johnson 62-08).
The JDHS girls won the 4x800 relay in 11:11.06 and Sitka was second with Smith, Stoemer, Wilcox and Lubin posting a time of 11:49.49.
The JDHS boys the 4x400 in 3:56.54 with Sitka’s Buxton, Gagner, Grant, and Blackmon 2nd in 3:57.84; and Haines won the boys 4x100 in 53.25.
Sitka travels to Juneau this weekend.
