Sitka Leads Volleyball Tourney

The Sitka High Lady Wolves won the opening match of the Region V volleyball tournament, Tuesday evening at Sitka High.

Sitka won in three sets, 25-11, 25-17 and 25-18 against the Mt. Edgecumbe High Lady Braves. As the only two 3A teams in the conference, Sitka and Edgecumbe will compete again today at 7 p.m. at Mt. Edgecumbe High.

If the Wolves win tonight, they will secure the Region V title, but if Edgecumbe wins, the teams will play a tie-breaker Thursday.
