TOP TALENTS - Wrangell’s Liana Carney, bottom, and Petersburg’s Ruby Massin, top, grapple in a finals match at the Sitka Scramble Saturday. Carney won the match 11-9, improving her season record to 28-1 and is a favorite to win the 119-pound girls title at the Southeast Region V Championships in Juneau this weekend. Massin has a 17-1 season record and is a favorite to win the 125-pound weight division. The Region V championships begin on Friday at Thunder Mountain High School. Up to three athletes qualify for the state championships in each weight division from the Division II and Girls Divisions, and two athletes from Division I schools. (Sentinel Photo by Klas Stolpe)
