A small contingent of swimmers from Sitka High’s team traveled to Petersburg for a meet last weekend.
Though only a handful of swimmers, traveled to the meet, Coach Tabitha Frawley said that many of them improved greatly over previous performances.
Frawley said that Kira Davis dropped six seconds from her previous time, touching at 1:40.62.
JoJo Rock won her heat of the 50-yard freestyle with a personal best of 34.62.
Bridger Bird  broke the one-minute mark in the 100-yard free, and dropped six seconds in the 200 freestyle. Frawley said Bird “has had an amazing first swim season.”
Ben Turner swam the 200 Individual Medley in 2:20.91, a personal record by five seconds.
The full Sitka swim squad competes again November 1-2, in Sitka, for the regional championship meet. It will be the first meet to be held at the Mt. Edgecumbe High pool.
