Photo caption: Pupil Josh Young gathers with his family in Gina Lawson’s first-grade class. The students were learning about Tlingit culture so  Josh’s family, mother Lillian Young, grandmother Ethel Makinen, and father Kyle Young, visited the class dressed in regalia, taught the kids songs in Tlingit, and did some drumming and dancing.

From On the Go: Howey Pitts is back from six weeks soaking up sun in Florida. Never rained and he has the suntan to prove it. He got to see former Sitkans Glenn and Claribel Smith, now running a bar in Michigan, and Jim and Thelma Pigg, now in Milwaukee, Ore., where Jim is in construction.
