The Sitka Sports Briefing

    With 2019 drawing to a close, the Sentinel will publish a Year in Review sports feature on Tuesday.
    Also ahead will be a story on the Sitka High Wolves basketball teams’ weekend games.
    The girls went 0-2, falling 52-46 to East Anchorage and 62-48 to West Valley, in Juneau.
    Over in Ketchikan, the Sitka boys also went 0-2 for the weekend. The Wolves lost to Cascade, Oregon, 53-33 and to Fairbanks’ Lathrop High, in a tight 53-47 contest.
    Full stories on the basketball games will appear later in the week. The Wolves and Braves have next weekend off.
