Dear Editor: Mt. Edgecumbe High School is taking in students from the Kuskokwim River Valley who lost their homes in Typhoon Halong.
We are starting a supply drive to collect necessities for these incoming students.
We are asking for: shower sandals; laundry detergent; towels, blankets; hygiene products (especially body wash, shampoo, deodorant, feminine products, chapstick and lotion; socks; rain gear; school supplies (notebooks, pens and pencils, and backpacks); snacks and nonparishable foods; vertical laundry hampers.
There will be two collection boxes, one at Sea Mart and another at the MEHS Visitor Center (open 9 a.m.-11 p.m. weekends, 4-10 p.m. weekdays).
Thank you so much for helping us in our time of need, Quyana, Gunalchéesh.
Asha Foruria,
Mt. Edgecumbe High School Senior
