With great sadness her family announces that Judy Puckett passed away from complications from pneumonia on April 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, and deep devotion to those she cherished most.

Judy was born Aug. 9, 1957, in Canyonville, Oregon. She was raised in Riddle, Oregon, a close-knit community where she met the love of her life, Allen Puckett. They were married on May 28, 1979, and began their life together, moving to Sitka in 1980, where they built a wonderful life filled with family, adventure, and lasting memories.

Judy devoted more than 33 years of service to the Sitka Police Department, where she was a respected and valued member of the department until her retirement. Her years of commitment reflected her strong work ethic, loyalty, and dedication to her community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Ardeth Juhl of Riddle, Oregon. Judy’s greatest joy was her family. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Allen Pucket, of Sitka; her son, Coy Puckett, and his wife Tiffany, and her beloved granddaughter Jasmine, who was truly the light of her life, of Ramona California. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Cindi Puckett of Riddle, Apryl Morris of Lorane, Oregon, Jerry Puckett and wife Kate of Sitka, and her step-granddaughters Roxxanne Puckett, Rhianna Gibbs, Allyson Mayville and Shelia Boyer, with whom she shared a very special bond.

Judy is also survived by her siblings: her brother, Pat Juhl and his wife Chris of Klamath Falls, Oregon; her brother Jack Juhl and his wife Jet of Riddle; and her sister Jill Paxton and husband Mike of Medford, Oregon.

She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly and treasured spending time with.

Judy found great happiness in the simple pleasures of life, especially fishing, shrimping, and crabbing alongside her husband, family and friends, and dancing with the New Archangel Russian dancers. Whether on the water or surrounded by family, Judy’s warmth, laughter, and loving spirit touched everyone who knew her. Judy will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love of family, her dedication to service, and the countless memories she created with those she loved. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A celebration of her life will be announced.
