Dear Editor: The local Parkinson’s support group has moved. We are still meeting every Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., but now we are in the new SEARHC facility, on the ground floor near the back of the cafeteria in the conference room.
We would like to invite all those affected by Parkinson’s and/or their health care support people. Learning to understand this disease is half the battle. This is a group that learns something new every week and supports each other emotionally, in exercising, and in new information.
Parkinson’s does NOT have to define a person. We can live a good life and learn new ways to cope, making the life better every day.
For those of us who attend we have found this to be a very helpful tool in living over and above the systems and frustrations that the disease can cause. Good support in a safe and confidential environment is life giving. We hope you will come and join us and feel the benefits we can share. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Sonny at 907 738-3535 or Marjorie at 907 738-3078. Remember, every Wednesday 4:30-5:30/6 p.m. at the new SEARHC Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center building, ground floor conference room off the cafeteria.
