With deep sorrow, his family has announced the passing of William H. Ryherd Jr., 77, of Santa Rosa, California. Born on November 5, 1947, at Hamilton Air Force Base, California, he died peacefully on July 27, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him dearly.
William was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was known for his strong work ethic and as a true jack of all trades. After graduating from San Jose State University in 1976, he went on to work for the U.S. Forest Service in California.
He lived in Sitka in the 1990s, and opened Evergreen Natural Foods, at 101 Lincoln Street. For the past 25 years he owned and operated a successful court reporting company in Santa Rosa.
His life's journey was full of love, laughter, and moments that left a mark on everyone he knew, and his absence will be felt in ways that words can't describe, his family said.
William is survived by his devoted wife, Victoria Ryherd; his daughters, Karyn Dillon (Mike) and Jennifer Barnes (Peter); and his cherished grandson, Zadyn Dillon, all of San Diego.
He also leaves behind his sister, Sharon Shaheen, of San Diego, and many other extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William (Bill) and Maxine Ryherd.
A celebration of his life is pending.
