Coast Guard Alaska To Air Final Season
By Sentinel Staff
After four seasons, the Weather Channel’s reality TV show Coast Guard Alaska, which was filmed in Sitka and Kodiak, will begin its final season February 23.
Mary Goddard, a Sitka resident who was a camera operator in the taping of the show, said it was “a real eye opener, to see the good that the brave men and woman of the Coast Guard do for our community.”

Over the years the program has featured rescues from sinking boats, and one from near the North Pole, as well as medevacs and delivery of Christmas packages to isolated Alaskan villages.
The program gives viewers an in-depth look into Air Station Sitka. “They are the ones to fly in the worst weather. Filming with the Coast Guard was a lifetime opportunity filled with adrenaline, humility, and adventure,” Goddard said about her experience working for the program.
Coast Guard Alaska airs on the Weather Channel Monday night at 9 p.m. Feb. 23 and can also be streamed via Hulu.
