Police Blotter
Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
September 20
At 7:51 a.m. a caller on Anna Drive said a car was running in a driveway. It was gone when officers arrived.
At 9:14 a.m. gunshots and dogs barking were reported near the bridge in totem park. Officers found nothing suspicious.
A vehicle was reported to have cut off a truck near HPR and Erler Street, but video viewed afterward indicated the truck cut off the vehicle.
At 12:24 p.m. a caller asked for a welfare check on a friend who hadn’t been heard from in a while. A message was to be passed on to the friend.
A domestic problem was reported on Indian River Road. Officers found nothing criminal had happened.
At 2:42 p.m. a caller said drivers were continuing to go the wrong way on Kaagwaantaan Street, which is one way, to get past the portion of Katlian closed to traffic until a collapsing house is dealt with.
At 3:46 p.m. a small dog was reported running at large at Price and Burkhart streets. The dog’s owner claimed it minutes after the call.
At 4:15 p.m. a ranger at totem park talked with a man who was fishing.
Police are investigating an assault case.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 3:47 p.m. Monday and 6:41 a.m. today.
At 10:44 a.m. Monday a faulty alarm went off in the 400 block on Katlian Street.
