Sitka Police Department received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
August 22
At 9:13 a.m. a parent reported a child custody issue. Police advised the caller of options.
At 12:21 p.m. another child custody issue was reported, and police again advised of options.
At 1:28 p.m. a driver complained about traffic backed up at HPR and Lake Street.
At 2:25 p.m. a driver in the 700 block of SMC was advised to turn down the volume of the music.
At 3 p.m. a caller complained that a driver ahead of him was being obstructive in the HPR and Katlian area. The caller said he knows the driver.
At 3:17 p.m. a caller reported food was being left outside for birds in the 400 block of Lake Street. The litter was gone when police checked.
Kids turned in a cell phone found at Crescent Harbor.
At 9 p.m. a driver was reported swerving in the 1300 block of HPR. Officers were unable to locate it.
At 11 p.m. a bartender reported a fight at a downtown bar. When officers arrived the fight had broken up. The officers patrolled the area for a time.
August 23
At 12:19 a.m. a vehicle was reported parked on the bridge with hazard lights on while a search was made for a drill bit. The drill bit was found and the vehicle left.
A cell phone was turned in.
At 5:42 a.m. police helped a driver find a 30-day parking spot in the Sealing Cove lot.
At 6:16 a.m. TSA reported brass knuckles were found in luggage at the airport. Police seized the weapon.
At 7:40 a.m. a fender bender was reported on Katlian Street. The drivers submitted self-report forms.

Donald Vanastdoll, 57, was charged Monday with violating conditions of release.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received four ambulance calls Monday.
At 10:32 a.m. Monday a fire call was received from the Sitka Hotel where oily rags had been put in a dryer. No fire resulted.
Coast Guard
A Coast Guard Air Station Sitka helicopter crew early this morning flew a 42-year-old woman with a possible case of paralytic shellfish poisoning from Klawock to Sitka.
A clinic on Prince of Wales Island called Coast Guard District 17 in Juneau around 2:30 a.m. The helicopter crew picked up the patient in Klawock at 4:41 a.m., and was back in Sitka at 5:58 a.m., the Coast Guard said. The woman was taken by ambulance to Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center.
