Annual Raffle
Prizes Offered
Sitka Cancer Survivors Society is holding its annual raffle, with the drawing to be Sept. 17.
The winning tickets will have a choice of three prizes. They are: a queen-size quilt, ‘‘Woven Ribbons,’’ made by Ocean Wave Quilters; a night stay for two people at Camp Starlight retro trailer vacation rentals; and a hand-woven yellow cedar basket made by Haida artist-educator Charlie Skultka Jr.
Tickets for a chance to win will be on sale at the Rainy Day Bazaar, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on March 25 at Centennial Hall.
Household Waste
Event in April
The Household Hazardous Waste Event will be held 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, April 29, and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, April 30.
The annual City and Borough of Sitka event is free to all Sitka residents. Items can be delivered to the Wastewater Treatment Plant 100 Alice Loop.
The city earlier this month announced the annual Spring Cleanup Event, usually held in tandem, has been postponed until August.

Set for Youths
The Sitka Public Library Teen Advisory Board invites community members to celebrate April’s poetry month at a poetry cafe 12:30-1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at the library.
