Local News
Dear Editor: It’s easy to talk about why live and local news is important, leading up to an election or during an emergency. But it’s the everyday work of the news that becomes a part of people’s routines: the weather forecast that determines whether you’ll go out on your boat; the community calendar announcements that remind us how we can connect with each other; the live interviews with our local leaders and resident change agents that spark the conversations essential to a democracy.
On Dec. 16, KCAW is holding “Southeast Celebrates News Day” – special programming that amplifies the richness of community perspectives. Every dollar raised on Dec. 16 will go directly to support Raven news. Please join us for an informative day of radio, and support broadcast news at www.kcaw.org.
