Clarification
Dear Editor: First of all, I thank Judy Johnstone for her letter to the editor printed Friday, Feb. 13. She related the founding of the Sitka Pioneers Home Auxiliary very well. I only have one correction to her letter and that regards the meetings. We meet quarterly throughout the year and had actually met on Feb 13 (Judy was absent due to illness.) Our annual meeting is held in November. However, she is absolutely correct in that we would welcome new members at any time.
The mission of the auxiliary is to assist in furthering the well-being of the residents of the Sitka Pioneers Home. Supporting the grounds, which the residents and community enjoy, is one important way and there are a wide variety of ways the auxiliary contributes to the lives of the residents. Our next quarterly meeting will be Friday, May 1, at 2 p.m. in the Pioneers Home Chapel.
